Valentine Day - A day at S.E.A Aquarium

Valentine Day in Japan is a day where we give chocolate to the guy we love to show appreciation. This traditional is unique within Japan culture. Come 14 March, it will be for the guy to return gift.

At the moment, been in Singapore, we still celebrate the same way as we do in Japan. On the Valentine Day, other than chocolate, we went S.E.A Aquarium.

S.E.A Aquarium

S.E.A Aquarium

The S.E.A Aquarium is part of the Resort World Sentosa's Attraction.  The queue during the weekend or special occasion is long, therefore it is better to purchase your ticket online and at times, there are discount given too.

Puffer Fish

The S.E.A Aquarium is said to have more than 800 species of marine life and second largest size by water volume after China's Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. Even so, we get to see many tourists from China. Some are so loud and rowdy which spoiled the romantic ambiance.

This year valentine day fall within the Chinese New Year, so maybe this is the reason for large number of tourist from China. Been so that, there isn't a single valentine day celebrating ambiance, all overcast by the Chinese New Year celebration.

Dragon Dance under water

In Japan, we usually get to see the dragon dance and lion dance in Yokohama Chinatown during Chinese New Year or other celebrations. Been said that, they are on land.  The dragon dance at S.E.A Aquarium was under then water by two staffs.

This make us think of the Chinese legend East Ocean dragon king. If they dive in one monkey king, that will be perfect since this year is the Monkey year.

Sun Wukong Adventure in the dragon palace?

We spent almost two and half hours walking thought the exhibit, and we did skip some due to the sheer number of visitors. There are so many special organisms housed there. We think if we see one by one and read all the description texts, we may have to take up to 4 to 5 hours.

There are so many Aquariums in Japan, and we love to visit them. Coming to S.E.A Aquarium, we are amazed by the number of exhibits. The only let down is, the dolphins are not within the S.E.A Aquarium, but in the adventure clove.
